Course Overview

Falck delivers this fundamental HSE (Health, Safety and Environment) training entirely as an online e-learning programme, allowing participants complete flexibility to study at their own pace without mandatory in-person attendance. The training is designed to equip safety representatives and members of working environment committees with the knowledge required by the Working Environment Act § 6-5 (1) and § 7-4, fulfilling the statutory minimum of 40 hours as specified in the Regulations on Organisation, Management and Employee Participation § 3-19.

Beyond the core e-learning modules, participants have the option to attend an optional Q&A session with an HSE expert to discuss specific topics and receive tailored guidance. These sessions, lasting up to 1.5 hours, allow for deeper exploration of course content and direct dialogue with professionals.

Course Modules

The training encompasses a range of focused e-learning modules covering essential HSE competencies:

Foundation and Legal Knowledge: The Introduction to HSE module establishes core concepts and working environment principles, including legislation and risk assessment fundamentals. A dedicated Working Environment Act quiz reinforces understanding of key regulatory provisions.

Systematic HSE Management: Participants gain insight into continuous HSE work practices, internal control systems, workplace assessment methodologies, and strategies for addressing non-conformities and documentation.

Risk Assessment: This module develops practical understanding of risk assessment processes and their application in workplace settings.

Employee Health and Wellbeing: The Health and Presence module addresses factors affecting employee health and attendance, including promotion of healthy workplaces, systematic management of sick leave, and challenges related to emotional demands, substance use, and gambling.

Work Environment Quality: The Organisational and Psychosocial Work Environment module examines conditions that foster positive work environments and addresses prevention of conflict, harassment, violence, and threats.

Physical Safety: The Ergonomic Work Environment module introduces ergonomic principles for manual work, computer work, and vibration exposure to prevent strain injuries. The Physical, Chemical and Biological Work Environment module enables identification and mitigation of relevant workplace hazards including noise, vibration, lighting, and moisture.

Practical Application and Support: The HSE in Practice module presents realistic case studies reflecting common challenges faced by safety representatives. Modules on Violence and Threats and PLIVO (Ongoing Life-Threatening Violence) provide practical tools for handling and responding to workplace violence situations. The Toolbox module connects participants with recognized resources and organisations within the working environment field. A Resilient Employees module explores research-based factors contributing to employee resilience, while the First Aid module delivers life-saving knowledge through videos and expert guidance from experienced first responders.
