Course Overview
Section 3-5 of the Norwegian Working Environment Act mandates that all individuals with employer responsibilities receive training in occupational health, environment and safety (HSE). This obligation is non-delegable and applies to managers and supervisors at all organizational levels.
The course is delivered digitally via Microsoft Teams in two half-day sessions, enabling participants to balance training with their regular managerial responsibilities.
Course Content
The training covers essential HSE knowledge and practical implementation:
Legal Framework and Regulations
Understanding the Working Environment Act and relevant regulatory requirements that govern workplace health and safety obligations.
Systematic HSE Approach
Exploring systematic occupational health and safety work methodologies and the internal control regulations that support effective implementation.
The Occupational Health Model
Learning the framework of the occupational health model (Arbeidsmiljømodellen) as a guide for comprehensive workplace health management.
Risk Assessment and Occupational Factors
Identifying and assessing various workplace hazards including physical, chemical, and biological factors, ergonomic considerations, and psychosocial work environment elements.
Creating Safe Workplaces
Implementing practical strategies to establish fully safe working environments, including systematic approaches to managing sick leave and defining roles and responsibilities within HSE work.
Workplace Policies
Understanding AKAN, the Norwegian Alcohol and Drug Policy in the Workplace, and its application in organizational practice.
