Earth-moving machines – Module 2.1, 3.1
Earth-moving machines course (Modules 2.1 & 3.1) provides basic safety training for M1–M6 operators, covering theory, safety, maintenance, and machine operation. Requires Module 1.
Informasjon
This course provides basic safety training for future operators of earth-moving machines. It is designed to increase competence in operating heavy machinery and understanding risks in earth-moving operations.
Machine classes covered
The theory includes all six machine categories:
- M1 Dozer
- M2 Excavator
- M3 Grader
- M4 Wheel loader
- M5 Backhoe loader
- M6 Dumper
Course structure
- Module 2.1: 24 hours theory
- Module 3.1: 8 hours practical training
- Total duration: 4 days
Learning outcomes
Participants receive both theoretical and practical training in safe machine operation, focusing on:
- Safe use of earth-moving machines
- Understanding machine structure and function
- Basic hydraulics and diesel engine principles
- Safety regulations and operational rules
- Inspection, control, and maintenance
- Accident prevention and risk awareness
- Documentation and certification requirements
Practical training and certification
After completing theory and practice, participants must complete:
- Module 4.1 practical training (approx. 32 hours)
- Practical test in company or with instructor
A certificate of competence is issued for the selected machine class after successful completion of training and testing.
Requirements
- Module 1 (working environment, responsibilities and consequences) must be completed
- Participants may start training from age 17, but certification requires age 18
Further progression
This course can be used as a foundation for additional training such as C1/C2 telescopic forklift.
